Happy New Years
Well I made it to 2012! I have made a move to a smaller house which is now cram packed with my "stuff"
I have made three resolutions this year to walk more, do yoga and decrease the amount of material I have. Now not all of that is my fault or excessive buying although I will admit to some. I inherited a bit of material from my wonderful mother (who was not a hoarder) when she passed last November. I have to say the loss has been tramatic for me as I was close to my momma. I miss her dearly everyday. So I will attempt to use up the material I received from her and also to finish up quilts she started. I will then attempt to finish some of the quilts I started. Now If I can only figure out how to share this blog!

falling behind big time!!!
Well my intentions were good but my progress sucks! I have moved this year to a smaller house and my sewing room is now in my bedroom. Things are a little tight, but still doable. I also changed jobs since I last posted and not a whole lot of my quilts got finished. The five dollar quilt was finished and sent to be quilted. I donated that to Bastrop for those who lost everything in the fire. I have a Carpenter Star that needs to have binding done, and a baby quilt that is being quilted. I just don't have a lot of time to get everything done. I need to take apart the black and white quilt and put borders around each one of the blocks. Maybe red since my room is black white and red. I have a new 5.00 quilt on the wall, and part of another baby blanket. Mom's stuff is still sitting in boxes ready to be put together. Big Sigh....... maybe if I kick butt I can still get some of the things I started finished. :) Oh I forgot to mention I made a quilt for Katie for her birthday, a carpenter star made with zebra materials, and binding done with black to match some of the black binding, will post a picture if I can find one.

New Year's Eve
Well tonight is New Year's Eve and I am wondering how many people are making new year's resolutions? I said I wasn't going to set myself up for failure but I did think of two resolutions I want to make. The first one is to decrease my paper hoarding. I am thinking of getting a neat machine that scans your receipts ect into a file on the computer. This would be so much more handier than trying to file it away every day. I wouldn't have to worry about what to keep and what not to keep. My second resolution is to finish my 12 UFO's. Because I work full time this one is really pushing it but I am bound and determined to finish them. One quilt is pieced but not quilted yet. The second quilt needs to be pieced together and my sewing room looks like someone set a bomb off in it. I brought all my mothers quilting things home and have yet to make the time to clear it up. Maybe on my day off Sunday. Will keep you posted.

New Year coming with (gulp) New resolutions
I always hated New Years because I invariably made a new years resolution only to break it. This year I have committed myself into finishing 12 UFO's (I'm praying already) and I am starting a diet at work where we must weigh in every month for 4 months. Not only do I weigh in front of everyone but If I lose enough weight I will get a bonus. Sooo.... there will be some ferocious competition. Each of us that do the weigh in must put in 25 dollars to start. If I lose I'm ok but if I gain I will have to pay 1.00 per pound. I don't know which will be worse, finding the time to finish my UFO's and my mother's UFO's or the diet. Hmmm I'm thinking the diet. Anyone have good diet recipes?
